| The waters of the Mosquito Lagoon, Indian, and Banana River Lagoons are less than one hour from Orlando and offer some of the best year-round fishing for redfish and spotted seatrout in the entire country. I am a professional, full time fishing guide specializing in catch, photograph, and release sight fishing charters on the shallow water flats with light tackle or fly fishing gear. I believe fishing should be fun and relaxing. No experience is necessary and anglers of all skill levels are welcome. Whether you have been busy working too much or fighting the crowds at the Orlando theme parks, a day of fishing on the Mosquito Lagoon is a great way to relieve stress. Charters include all licences, bait, and tackle. Located along the east central coast of Florida between Cocoa Beach and Daytona Beach, the Mosquito Lagoon is the last piece of undeveloped fishing waters in the area. Seasonally, you may encounter rolling tarpon from 5-150 lbs, snook around docks and mangroves, black drum on the flats and under bridges, and flounder in the creeks and inlets. The diverse estuary also offers opportunities to catch jack crevalle, pompano, ladyfish, grouper, snapper, and more. As a fellow fly fisherman, I understand how to put you in the best position to cast to a tailing redfish or trophy sized seatrout. For those looking for the ultimate flats fishing experience, the clear waters of the Mosquito Lagoon and Indian River allow you to cast to fish you can see. Watching the fish chase down and engulf your lure adds to the excitement of the catch. My guided fishing charters are conducted from a clean and well maintained Hewes flats skiff. You will be provided with top quality spinning and fly tackle as well as all lures and live baits. The cost of the charter also includes all licenses. I am a licensed US Coast Guard Captain and hold a permit required to guide in the waters of the Canaveral National Seashore & Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge. Mosquito Lagoon and the Indian River Lagoon system offer you the chance to see a diversity of wildlife in addition to the spectacular fishing. During your trip, you may see a variety of land and sea creatures including bottlenose dolphin, manatee, and alligators. In addition, Mosquito Lagoon is home to an assortment of birds ranging from bald eagles and osprey to pelicans, ibis, and spoonbills, egrets, and more. For those who are new to fishing or want to learn to fish the waters around Titusville, New Smyrna, Daytona Beach,Cocoa Beach, Melbourne, or Sebastian, I also offer fishing instruction either at your home or on the water. Classes will be personally designed to fit the needs of the angler. Tackle and bait selection, spin and fly casting, knot tying, presentation, selecting productive waters, and fighting fish are a small sample of topics I cover. My instruction will help you become a better angler and catch more fish.
